A pretty juvenile comedy but with a few surprise laughs. Definitely better than a Sandler...

Helping hand
If you had the chance to hire someone to help you out, would you do it? Would you feel bad about it? I think it is safe to say that the movie is quite predictable, yet it is made fun by the actors in it. Yes there is a moral anchor and yes the main actors are attractive (also they apparently are together in real life if that is something you are interested in),but it is also light considering the subject matter ... well apart from the jokes involving the dog (and some other stuff) ... those get pretty dark.
You also have one of the better endings. I knew what was happening and could see ... what was what ... but it is a nice thing to see - especially the way it is solved. More than good enough to say the least.
Morality.com
And love.com come to think of it. What would romantic comedies be if they weren't predictable ... at least a little bit. But that is not why we watch them. Sometimes we are forced (by our significant other, our mood and so forth),sometimes we just need them to feel better.
What always helps are charismatic leads and a funny story/script. Well I can attest that both are present here. This is funny and while you can see where it goes the minute it starts, there are moments that will catch you by surprise ... like many scenes with the dog ... or the ending! Which I kind of knew what it was while it played out, but it is fun to see how it resolved and ... revealed! Very fine little movie for a good time, with a few darker jokes to boost.
