Mediocre behind-the-scenes documentary

"Zum Beispiel Bresson" or "Au hasard Bresson" is a German half-hour documentary from 1967, so this one will have its 50th anniversary already next year. It is in black-and-white and an early career effort by director Theodor Kotulla that nonetheless amounted in one of his biggest wins, namely a German Film Award. The title already says what this is about. It is a making-of documentary for one of French filmmaker Robert Bresson's works. However, the title is also misleading as this is not about "Au hasard Balthazar", but about "Mouchette", another film by Bresson who is already in his 60s here and still lived for over three decades afterward. Another misleading aspect is the language. The version I watched, probably the original, is entirely in French and not in German as it says on IMDb. It's mostly quotes by Bresson himself and occasionally we also hear his cast and crew. I personally did not feel anything about this little documentary does stand out. It probably helps of you have seen "Mouchette" before, which I have not, but I still give it a thumbs-down. Not recommended.
