I can't believe the poor imdb rating. This movie may not be as polished as some other movies but its a lovely film with a lot more depth and heart than many Hollywood films.

Plot summary
Alaska Rose has had a difficult few years since her mom left the family four years prior; acting out, rebelling against her single dad, Conner, getting into trouble in school and worse. But when she turns eighteen, Alaska finds herself in front of a judge in adult court for some of the same out-of-control behavior. In lieu of a jail sentence, Alaska is ordered to do community service in an assisted living facility where she is assigned to Mrs. Foster, an elderly resident who is unapproachable at best and hostile at her worst. Will Mrs. Foster be Alaska's undoing or will she simply be another obstacle on the road to the headstrong girl's freedom? As Alaska tries to minimally fulfill her court obligation and dodge actual jail time, she deals with peer pressure, static from her family, outside influences and demons from her past. Can she navigate the tumult and re-discover a relationship with God and her family or will she remain caught in the cycle of bad choices and lose what little of either is left?

A Moving Story of Faith, Kindness, and Forgiveness
I bought 'Finding Grace' because I am a fan of films with a positive message. I went into the film knowing nothing about the story, but luckily, what I found was an extremely well-made, moving story of faith, kindness, and forgiveness.
The film revolves around a young woman, Alaska Rose (played to perfection by Paris Warner) who is struggling to stay out of trouble, mostly due to the pain she feels from something she experienced in the past. When she is reluctantly sentenced to community service at a retirement home, she forms a bond with an eldery woman, Mrs. Foster, who is dealing with pain of her own . Don't want to give too much away past that. Just watch.
As the film goes on, the audience is given more and more of the main character's backstory, which really takes the film to another level. There were a couple of powerful scenes that I didn't see coming, and I'll admit, brought some tears to my eyes. It's really a testament to the writing and performances, which felt authentic and never forced. The writing and direction of Warren Fast proves that he is someone to watch in the future.
Overall, it was worth the purchase, and I would particularly recommend it to young people who might be dealing with some of the same problems that Alaska deals with in the film.
Could have been brilliant. Ended up just ok. God squad ruined it.
Ah. As with all Christian faith based films. You don't need to include pointless goddy bits. Let the faith of the film makers and the quality of the film stand alone and demonstrate your faith. As you should your lives.
I was enjoying it until the church scene and after that I knew I couldn't give it more than a C rating. Without it I would have given it a B. Without all the other faith references, it would have been an A.
Worth a watch but almost turned it off numeroud times when the goddy bits were shoehorned in. So pointless and such a shame, especially the end. It was ruined.
