Radiation from the ozone

The plot is given to us piecemeal. 25% of the world is dead, 2/3 are infected by a pollution-related illness. People have bio-scanners implanted in them to keep them alive from radiation coming in through the ozone. The bio-scanner needs an update as Medican, 411, the Elements martial art group fight each other for the update code.

The acting was bad and the soundtrack annoying. The ozone will and did fix itself with the reduction of ozone-depleting materials. Radiation sickness doesn't linger for years. The science behind the plot was horribly inaccurate and not smarter than a fifth-grader. In addition to bad acting, the fighting was a joke, being done Van Damme style with 20 guys surrounding one guy and coming at him one at a time. What was with the living room chop scene?

Guide: No swearing, sex, or nudity.

But the fighting was so atrociously bad...

Right, well I was lured in by the movie's cover, which definitely was reminiscent of something that you'd see on a Tony Jaa movie. In fact, I think they were actually borrowing so heavily from Tony Jaa movies that it was sort of blatantly theft and embarrassing.

Regardless, I sat down to watch the 2019 movie "Wu Xia 2: The Code" (aka "Immortal Combat: The Code") and I was expecting it to be a martial arts movie. Well, it was - sort of. While there was martial arts and fighting in the movie, it was so amateurishly choreographed, scripted and executed that it was such an eyesore and cringeworthy to watch on the screen. In fact, it felt like it was supposed to be a spoof on the "Mortal Kombat" franchise, given the title of the movie; "Immortal Combat".

The acting in the movie was pretty much as to be expected from a movie such as this. So you shouldn't be setting yourself up for disappointment by expecting some grand Shakespearian performances. Some of the acting performances were adequate, some dubious. So go figure.

This was by no means an outstanding movie experience, and I gave up on the movie with just 23 minutes remaining. I just simply couldn't take anymore of the pointless storyline, the equally pointless characters, and the atrocious fighting. It was just rubbish.

My rating of the movie is a generous two out of ten stars, solely based on the production value of the movie. If you enjoy martial arts movies, do yourself a favor and skip on this one. Don't get suckered in by the movie's cover, because it has nothing to do with the actual contents of the movie.

Wtf

Omg this film is unintentionally laughable from the wooden acting and the action scenes. This is a horrid mess between power rangers and Air Bender and Mortal Kombat! This film makes those films look like masterpiece by comparison. You'll love how the villains attack the protagonists one by one and the heroes honour the code of never using deadly force. The choreography is very nostalgic in that it looks outdated.

The acting is like a reserved Pinocchio in that they start off resembling humans but with each dialogue delivered they become more and more wooden.
