As his directorial debut, I think a 6 rating is enough to give to Umay. The director dared to make a film with a theme related to mental health (Bipolar Disorder),but unfortunately it was not explained in detail why the main character had bipolar disorder. The storyline of this film also is too rushed and displays too many songs/singings. In addition, this film puts more emphasis on "love" rather than "bipolar disorder". It would be better if the director could focus more on "bipolar disorder" rather than love stories that have been found in many Indonesian films.
5.2Plot summary
Pram (Jourdy Pranata) is a lonely young man; his father passed away when he was still in middle school and his mother is busy working. Pram fills his days playing music and composing songs while working in a music cafe. Then he meets Niskala (Prilly Latuconsina) and they become friends. Pram doesn't know that Niskala has a bipolar disorder. Niskala hides from her father Dedi (Kiki Narendra) that she's pursuing a college education; her only goal is to prove to her father that she can still excel, even with her condition. Since becoming friends with Pram, Niskala breaks all the rules and promises she made. Pram feels that Niskala can fill his lonely days and can even support him in music. Pram's duet with Niskala receives tremendous appreciation. Pram finally finds out that Niskala has bipolar disorder, but he loves her even more. When Dedi finds out that she's singing in the cafe, he causes a commotion with Pram.—filmindonesia.or.id

Just make band instead making movie
80% music, 20% story. Too much music, I don't enjoy the story. If I want to enjoy music I would just open Spotify instead go to cinema to watching this movie.

Tries to be a lot of things, but doesn't quite succeed at any of them
Umay Shahab's directorial debut, 'Kukira Kau Rumah,' tries to be a lot of things, but doesn't quite succeed at any of them. Most of its conflicts and characters are underdeveloped with the slow-burn pacing drags, making it rather difficult to relate to or become attached to the whole story. There's no denying the two leads are attractive, but they're either stuck in the muck of this uninspired material, or lack the chemistry to elevate it.
