Excellent comedy about two out of control terrors from hell!

PROBLEM CHILD 2, in my opinion, is an excellent comedy about two out of control terrors from Hell! I truly loathed Lawanda (Laraine Newman) and Murph (Eric Edwards). On the other hand, everything that Junior (Michael Oliver) and Trixie (Ivyann Schwan) did was absolutely hilarious. Mr. Peabody (Gilbert Gottfried) was also hilarious, albeit somewhat annoying. Before I wrap this up, I'd like to say that everyone was ideally cast, the direction was flawless, the production design was spectacular, and the performances were top-grade. Now, in conclusion, I highly recommend this excellent comedy about two out of control terrors from Hell. I guarantee you you'll enjoy it.

True, this movie is not that great, but personally I have seen worse movies

I sort of liked the first Problem Child, it had problems but it had its moments as well. This sequel is bad admittedly, but it isn't the very worst sequel out there(Home Alone 4 gets that dishonour) and it certainly isn't as bad as Problem Child 3:Junior in Love, which is Bottom 100 material. Starting with the good things, some parts are funny, like the food fight and the vomiting on the roller coaster and Gilbert Gottfried is often hilarious here as is Jack Warden. However, where the film comes down is an awful script, leaden direction, rushed camera work an even more obnoxious performance than ever before from Michael Oliver as the dysfunctional kid and apart from one or two exceptions the jokes do not work. In terms of performances, John Ritter is lost at sea here not surprised seeing as how little he was given to do, and Amy Yasbeck's performance is pretty much a copyright of her performance in the first film. Overall, bad but not abysmal. 3/10 Bethany Cox

hate the first

Ben Healy (John Ritter) and his adopted son Junior move to Mortville, Oregon to start anew after leaving his wife. All the women in the neighborhood are overjoyed for the single dad. Igor Peabody is horrified that Junior has joined him in the new school. He decides to promote Junior from 3rd grade to 6th grade so that he only has one year with the brat. Murph is the giant, dim-witted bully. They are joined by grandpa Big Ben Healy (Jack Warden). Junior battles against the equally bratty Trixie Young. Junior keeps sabotaging Ben's dates. Ben is taken with school nurse Annie Young (Amy Yasbeck). LaWanda DuMore (Laraine Newman) is rich, hates Junior, and intends to seduce Ben.

I did not like the first movie although I do not remember much from it. It is obvious from the start why I did not like the original. I do not like the kid. He is annoying as hell although it is by design. The bigger problem is that I do not find his antics funny. It continues but this movie is better with young cutie rival Trixie. It is interesting to bring back Amy in a different role. LaWanda is unnecessary. The obvious plot move is for the battling kids to join forces to stop their parents dating. Nothing else is needed. I like this sequel marginally more but it is still bad.
