Great
Short, but enjoyable "Scooby-Doo" adventure...
Well, I will have to say that this 2013 animated movie titled "Scooby-Doo! And the Spooky Scarecrow" was actually rather enjoyable.
Sure, it follows the traditional archetypical formula that all "Scooby-Doo" stories do, of course it does, but the atmosphere in this particular animated movie was just spectacular, and it added a lot of flavor to the story. So much, in fact, that the short run time of 22 minutes hardly becomes an issue.
I enjoyed the story told in "Scooby-Doo! And the Spooky Scarecrow", as written by Paul Dini, Misty Lee and Len Uhley, as did my 11 year old son. So this 2013 animated movie has something for viewers of all ages.
Visually then "Scooby-Doo! And the Spooky Scarecrow" is spot on, as it follows the animation and art style that we know and love from the numerous other "Scooby-Doo" stories. So there is a good sense of familiarity and continuity to this 2013 animated movie.
And with "Scooby-Doo! And the Spooky Scarecrow" being an animated movie, having a proper voice cast ensemble is alpha and omega. And it is always a treat to have returning voice performers Frank Welker, Mindy Cohn, Grey Griffin and Matthew Lillard return to reprise their characters. But "Scooby-Doo! And the Spooky Scarecrow" also have the likes of Kelly Hu and Wendie Malick on the cast list.
If you enjoy "Scooby-Doo" stories, then you should definitely watch "Scooby-Doo! And the Spooky Scarecrow", if you get the chance. It is as enjoyable as it is entertaining.
My rating of "Scooby-Doo! And the Spooky Scarecrow" lands on a six out of ten stars.
Boring
I loved the place the Scooby Gang went to for Halloween. The scarecrow was scary and the concept was alright. The voice acting was great. Other than that, it was dull. I found nothing connecting me to the side characters or the main. Nothing happened through out it. I found myself not paying attention after awhile. The bad guy was someone I honestly didn't know was brought up. Overall, it's got great scenery and voice acting, but terrible story.
