This movie attempts to subvert the formula of 80s slasher movies where young women are killed off one at a time. I thought it was a very lazy effort. It isn't written well enough to actually feel like a new take on a familiar formula. It is mostly just reused tropes and extremely unfunny humor. The girls are somewhat likeable, but they eventually make all the stupid decisions horror movies rely on. It felt like they came up with a concept worth exploring, but just wanted to get it done rather than put in the work to justify its existence. Very lame.

They didn't really try too hard, did they?
Bad Movie w/Hot Politcal Garbage & Modern Hollyweird Talking Points aka Men Bad
Wowzers. I am a fan of the original(s) and this was awful. Similar plot, with she twist.
It's shinny and new and everything seems fake. Everything seems processed and contrived because it was. For those who saw it, they know what I mean in the plot.
It did have modern Hollyweird talking points. Kid you not! Men bad, women good. Men dumb, women smart. I didn't exaggerate.
I am not kidding. A movie on the SyFy channel, which are mostly a male audience, is getting lectured in a bad movie about misogyny.
The killer is a man and this movie makes no sense. Did I fail to mention it has close up shots of men slow motion bathing, which is for feminismgayism empowerment, for a straight male audience?
Terrible plot. Boring...just boring. It drags and drags.
The Director cannot direct and the cinemotography was bad. The writing was obviously a mess. All 3 should be banished form movie making.
Glad I didn't watch it on SyFy, but rather streamed it.
I watched it, so you don't have too.
2 out of 10.
Guy Two
This film is a bit of a remake. It is more of a legacy film and a spoof of the original classic. They redid a scene from the original and the killer Russ Thorne (Rob van Vuuren) is believed dead, but the body is never found. Years later the daughter (Hannah Gonera) of the lone survivor (Schelaine Bennett/Masali Baduza) and a group of girls return to the scene of the crime with the intent of killing Russ Thorne who they believe is still alive. A group of boys occupy a nearby cabin.
The spoof comes in on the pillow fight. The boys have a topless pillow fight instead of the girls as in the first film and it is male butt nudity in the shower. The role reversals were cute and unless you saw the 1982, this will all seem like garbage. There is some silliness to the feature. In the beginning, Trish picks up the wall phone to dial for help. Unable to get anything, she flees. We then hear a dial tone.
Guide: F-word. Male butt nudity. No sex.
