'Wind' was the third recently seen Pixar short film from the 2018-2020 batch that was watched. The other two being 'Out' and 'Loop', both wonderful and this is pretty much on their level in its own way. Saw 'Burrow' a year ago and loved that as well. The 2018-2020 Pixar short films addressed and tackled some very divisive and deep themes and did on the whole a great job making shorts full of charm and heart while doing nothing to trivialise or over-emphasise these themes, which is what made them so fascinating and appealing.
One of the more mature themes/subjects, that of wanting better lives and sacrifice, was that for 2019's 'Wind'. Not quite one of my favourite animated short films or one of Pixar's best, but it is absolutely beautiful with good intentions and full of great meaning and emotion. Am aware that the ending for 'Wind' didn't work for some, with them finding it predictable and cruel as well as not easy to understand, and sparked debate, but while those feelings are understandable once it was explained to me it wasn't a problem for me.
The animation has such beauty and atmosphere that was transfixing at its best. The exquisitely detailed and atmospheric backgrounds particularly stand out in the second half. The music has presence without being too much or spilling out too much the emotions. Perfectly suited for the theme and setting too, especially "Alone" and "Wind Demo".
Absolutely loved the characters of Ellis and Grandmother. Such a beautiful bond that reminded me of the bond between me, my sisters and my grandparents. Pixar have really been on a roll with creating easy to relate to characters suffering from and having to overcome significant adversity. Something that 'Wind' does again with honesty and compassion. The theme is a very mature one and it is done in a way that is genuinely moving without being too sentimental and has a real magical charm.
Can, as said, understand totally why some didn't like the ending. Was not totally enamoured by it myself, due to not getting the point of what happened. Seeing 'Wind' again and having the ending explained to me and its significance, that no longer became a problem and actually feel bad about initially considering it one. A tearjerker that's for sure. The story is simple but touching and heart-warming in characteristic Pixar fashion.
In conclusion, a beauty. 10/10.

Metaphor of life
This short film running only 8 min but it has 2 hours of film value.
The grandma and grandson were lining in deep down from the land. They tried to get out of there and he correct items from no gravity space.
One day he made a plan so good but his grandma didn't like it. But they create a brilliant spaceship and he could get out of deep space.
He was so happy that he could feel the ground and green scenery. Sadly, grandma couldn't get out of the deep space and she knew it so she connected furoshiki to a chain.
Joy, Hope, Life, Love. Everything I could get from this movie.
Meh
I didn't care for anything other than the animation, which was typical Pixar quality. The script, well, that was something that needed improvement.
