I have to agree with the majority of reviewers who rated this travesty of a sequel low. I enjoyed the original film so much I had high hopes for this one. Though I have always enjoyed Keith David even he couldn't salvage this poorly directed pile of

Plot summary
Horror is back in the hood! The sequel to the ground-breaking original film Tales From the Hood reunites Executive Producer Spike Lee (Honorary Academy Award® winner) and Writers/Directors/Producers Rusty Cundieff and Darin Scott for an all-new gripping, horrifying and oftentimes devilishly comical anthology. Keith David stars as a contemporary Mr. Simms to tell bloodcurdling stories about lust, greed, pride and politics through tales with demonic dolls, possessed psychics, vengeful vixens and historical ghosts. Mr. Simms's haunting stories will make you laugh...while you scream.

What Were They Thinking?!?
Pretty Awful
It's hard to imagine this is made by the same people who brought us the original, because it feels like this a poor cash in made by people who didn't understand the original at all. Attempts at humor only comes across as sad and cheesy. They're still tackling important social issues like the original did, but it's nowhere near as thoughtful and smart.
The least interesting addition in the Tales from the Hood franchise...
Well the 2018 "Tales from the Hood 2" wasn't as good as the 1995 "Tales from the Hood", nor as good as the 2020 "Tales from the Hood 3". Sure, it was watchable, but it was mediocre entertainment at best.
The stories told in "Tales from the Hood 2" weren't really all that interesting in comparison to the other installments in the franchise. They felt sort of more out-of-place than in the other two movies. There weren't just really that particularly horror atmosphere to the 2018 "Tales from the Hood 2". In fact, some of the stories were just blatantly bland and hardly thrilling at all. And the narrative story that tied all the stories together was just idiotic.
I suppose that "Tales from the Hood 2" does suffer the curse that most sequels do.
It should be said, though, that the cast they had mustered for the various segments in "Tales from the Hood 2" was actually good. And I must admit that it is always a blast to watch Keith David in movies.
While I managed to sit through the entire anthology here, I can't really claim that I was particularly impressed, much less entertained. It was watchable, but it is hardly something that I will be venturing back to watch a second time.
My rating of "Tales from the Hood 2" lands on a very mediocre five out of ten stars.
