I am a big fan of French cinema, but "Ne le Dis à Personne" is an awesome thriller and superseded my expectations. The story and the characters are well-developed and there are simply no flaws in the complex plot, with all the situations being perfectly explained. The cast is fantastic, giving credibility to their characters. Only now I have seen the number of awards and nominations of this great film. Congratulations, the people that made this film really deserve them. My vote is nine.
Title (Brazil): "Não Conte a Ninguém" ("Do not Tell Anybody")

Awesome French Thriller
Hard to explain....but it's very good.
In some ways, this film reminds me a bit of Hitchcock's "North By Northwest". No, I am not saying that "Tell No One" is 'Hitchcockian'--whatever that is. I mean that the plot has some similarities. Both involve a completely innocent man caught up in a conspiracy they don't understand. And, in both cases, they are wanted for a murder and have no idea where to turn. And, both are really good films.
François Cluzet is a doctor whose wife was apparently murdered eight years ago. However, out of the blue, it appears as if she might still be alive--and, at the same time, the police re-open her murder case and think that he is the one responsible. Cluzet runs and gets a little help from some unlikely friends--and the plot gets weirder and more and more complicated. I could say a lot more--suffice to say that it always keeps you guessing.
The best thing going for this film is its sense of tension. Some of the characters (especially the 'torture lady') and situations are truly frightening--and the film keeps you on the edge of your seat. The most amazing of these moments clearly is the scene where Cluzet is escaping the police by running across a VERY busy highway!! All in all, a very good film whose only letdown is the ending--which seems to take a bit too long and need a bit too much exposition to explain why everything has occurred. Still, it's well worth your time and doesn't treat the audience like it's stupid.
Enjoy the ride
A well-made, twisty turny French thriller that's based on an American crime novel by Harlan Coben. Directed by a man who clearly knows his stuff, this is an example of exciting and suspenseful filmmaking that grabs you early on and leaves you hooked until the eventual denouement. The plot, while familiar, is so loaded with mystery and tension that you won't mind: it's essentially about an average guy hunting for his missing wife, while pursued by a faceless enemy at the same time. It's great to look at and a cast who give genuine performances only add to the level of quality.
It's not all perfect, however. The last twenty minutes or so mark a lengthy explanation in which every facet of the mystery is revealed – and frankly, looking back over it, it's entirely unbelievable that what happened in this film's back story would ever happen in real life. It makes for a fine mystery along the way, but the reason you won't guess the outcome is because it's unfathomable.
Nevertheless, the journey along the way makes for good cinema, highlighted by one outstanding foot chase and a supporting cast of decent, intriguing characters, including one lovable rogue who almost makes the movie. As thrillers go, this is one of the best in recent years.
