What happen with the legend !??
Easily forgettable and bland
I appreciate its efforts to try to bring back the nostalgia of the 90s Jet Li Once Upon A Time in China series but the majority of the cast lacks the charisma and energy to do so. Vincent Zhao is still good at this age but other then that this movie is nothing special. The fight scenes are mostly bland and could've been longer with some being exceptionally enjoyable. The villain was weak. This one scene in particular ripped off of Kung Fu Hustle. The story line isn't anything spectacular but it was cool to see Wong Fei Hong fight zombielike kung fu guys.
I'm sad, NO PROGRESS. After 25+ years it still stupid
I thought, after decades had passed, Hongkong flicks would be smarter or a bit more realistic. Naah, I guess only in my dream. By the *very first* 5 minutes, they have already done the same stupid cliche exactly as they did 30 years ago (magical soldiers pop up from nowhere by instant, doing nothing, which turned out, beside supermagical ability to instantly exists, those magical soldiers are useless in everything else). As conservative as I am, this stagnancy in movie's plot and story's logic is disheartening, no character development is expected but still using blatant stereotypical and overacting figurants today is inexcusable.
