In what world would a random Italian tailor in New York be the "perfect" person to fix a snag in the lace of an 150+ year-old veil?
Emma had just married into the di Stefano family of lace-makers, whose ancestors had created that veil for a member of the family. And the snag happened at the wedding in Italy, with the entire family RIGHT THERE. Emma could have left it with the family and they could have fixed it and sent it to Tracy. Neither Emma nor Tracy seem concerned in the least about the damage.
I know they needed a way for Tracy to meet Nick while in possession of the veil, but they could have found a way that wasn't complete nonsense.

Plot summary
Tracy Goodwyn, Director of Books and Documents at the Metropolitan Auction House in New York City, is the last of her art history best friends - Boston museum curator Avery and Chicago university professor Emma the other two - to have possession of the late nineteenth century Italian lace wedding veil they purchased together solely as an antiquity. The legend of the veil is that its owner will come into true love. While the veil seems to have worked with recently married Avery and Emma meeting their respective spouses when they had it in their possession, Tracy is less than skeptical in never really having believed in true love for various reasons, and in she and her musician boyfriend of two years Finn, her longest ever relationship, breaking up out of circumstance while she had the veil, they only having talked casually about the possibility of getting married beforehand. In planning a party at work to publicize an upcoming auction, Tracy meets high end restaurateur Nick Serchio, who she, at the last minute, hires as the function caterer, she reluctant to do so despite the quality of his food as they butted heads in a chance earlier encounter over their strong opposing feelings about New York issues. The one thing each can agree on is their love for the city, Nick, a third generation Italian-American whose love for the city is partly from the immigrant experience of his maternal "nonna", Gia. Beyond the auction house party, Tracy and Nick begin to bond in each helping the other with a prominent work issue: Tracy trying to find a museum to purchase an original handwritten draft of Emma Lazarus' "The New Colussus" made most famous by being engraved on the Statue of Liberty, it going to auction which would probably mean it being purchased by private buyer Carter Wainwright who would otherwise hide it in a vault, and Nick opening a new Asian-Italian fusion restaurant against Nonna's traditional Italian sensibilities. The question becomes whether romance-shy Tracy will be open enough to let Nick romantically into her life, especially so soon after Finn.

Can't get past plot hole
Sophisticated New Yorkers
One line spoken in the middle of "The Wedding Veil Legacy" gets at the heart of film's characterizations: "There is always something new to discover about New York." It turns out that one of the new things discovered is that Tracy Goodwyn and Nick Serchio are true blue New Yorkers who are made for one another.
Tracy is the Director of Books and Documents at the Metropolitan Auction House in New York City. Nick is the owner of an Italian restaurant in Manhattan. The two characters meet at a tailor shop where Nick is being fitted for a tuxedo and Tracy has brought in a damaged veil that was acquired her and her two besties, Emma and Avery. The two friends have married, and it is now Tracy's turn to trust in the veil in her never-ending quest for bliss in the sacred institution of holy matrimony.
The legend of the veil is that the possessor will find true love. After Tracy's boyfriend Flynn is hired to play trumpet for the Los Angeles symphony, he is seen as a traitor for leaving Tracy's beloved New York. When she meets Nick, she has found another die-hard New Yorker. At that point, the deal is basically sealed.
The filmmakers wove some good, liberal, multicultural tropes into the narrative. Tracy is seeking a museum to purchase the handwritten draft of Emma Lazarus's poem "The New Colossus" that welcomes immigrants to America. Of course, we must champion all forms of immigration, not just the legal kind written about by Lazarus where immigrants went through legal channels on Ellis Island to become citizens. Today, we must all endorse illegal immigration by the millions on the Southern border. Nick is opening a new restaurant that will combine Italian and Asian cuisine. What a great neoliberal idea! A new form of politically correct dining: Asian-Italian!
Originally worn by a Contessa, the magical veil is infused with the spirit of Ariana that hovers over the happy couple, Tracy and Nick. It is only a matter of time before Tracy will be donning the veil as she marches up the aisle to her destiny.
The Wedding Veil Legacy
6/10 - the series ends off on a high and will certainly be one to check out if you enjoyed the rest of the series as there are a lot of bows tied together and storylines completed.
