Tigertail was a very disposable film honestly for me since i didnt saw nothing new or original that hasnt been seen a lot of times and it has a dose of repeating staff from similiar films of same type, film runtime is also very short and story stracture suffered becase of it and changing from speaking foreign leanguage to english was honestly annoying to me , i mean choose one of them, actors give solid performances but nothing astonishing, film deept was fully explored and it felt rushed becase of runtime, tigertail was a fine film at best, nothing new or special but it was at least solid and watchable
Plot summary
In this poignant multi-generational drama, Pin-Jui (Hong-Chi Lee) is a free-spirited yet impoverished young Taiwanese factory worker, who makes the difficult decision to leave his homeland - and the woman he loves - behind in order to seek better opportunities in America. But years of monotonous work and an arranged marriage devoid of love or compassion leave an older Pin-Jui (Tzi Ma) a shadow of his former self. Unable to sympathize with his daughter Angela (Christine Ko) and at risk of living out his retirement in solitude, Pin-Jui must reconnect with his past in order to finally build the life he once dreamed of having.

tigertail
Don't let this quietly affecting, profoundly human film get past you.
The relationship between Grover and Zhenzhen is one of my favorite on-screen romances in quite a while. Unfortunately, like so much else, it was ruined by the devastating lie that is the American capitalist dream. In a just universe, Lee Hong Chi would be in awards consideration; sadly, that seems as likely as Tigertail being as culturally prevalent as Tiger King.
Rings true to life
This film is not a fantasy in anyway, it's everyday life on what people go through, it is very slow but the actors performances really sell the film, I really like the way the main character not always somebody you want to root for, although you still feel bad for him.
Really examines past regrets and how it effects in the present. Sometimes I felt I was these characters, I forget at times it was just a movie, it feels very real.
