This is a Film that gives an introspect into the degradation of surrealism and spiritual elements in the African society due to environmental pollution. This goes to show how the physical greatly affects the spiritual and vice versa. This is a really good movie to see.

The Lost Okoroshi follows Raymond (Seun Ajayi),a security guard (and something of a layabout) whose main preoccupations are checking out women and figuring out how to escape the bustle of Lagos in favor of the more relaxed countryside. Despite, or maybe because of, his seeming "averages-ness", he's beset by surreal dreams where he's haunted by a traditional Okoroshi masquerade (ancestral spirit). One morning, our protagonist wakes up to discover he's been transformed into a purple spirit. Having lost his voice, he must navigate Lagos in this new form. His journey takes him across the society, to the club, and even into the world of a secret society bent on claiming the masquerade as their own.

A much needed mascarade
This is not just another naija silly film. It's still silly and Nigerian, but in a witty, essentially thought-provoking way. It's a statement. An indepth look into physical vs spiritual balance, which we're all seeking today. A fable with humble esthetics.

I truly feel like this film was tailor made for me. I'm just realizing that this is the first/only movie that's actually told from MY perspective. I'm the target audience for this film!
And I'm looking forward to Abba's next feature!
